Strings Medium
what is the difference between light acoustic strings and medium acoustic strings?

Im looking to buy some strings for every day use for my acoustic, which ones should i buy? I can buy light or medium, whats the difference ?

The technical difference is that light gauge strings are thinner than medium gauge strings. Since they're thinner they require less tension to get up to proper pitch. This in turn makes it easier to fret.

The price you pay is that light gauge strings produce slightly less tone and volume than medium gauge strings. Most people - myself include - accept this trade off since the light gauge strings are so much easier on your fingers. This is obviously also not a concern if you're playing a guitar with a pickup since you have the benefit of amplification to make up for the reduced volume.

I use and recommend Elixir Nanoweb light gauge strings.
