guitar vibratos
How do I do a vibrato? (Guitar)?

I've just started learning guitar and I've been doing vibrato by moving my finger, but I've heard that can cause damage and what not.
How do I do vibrato correctly?
I'm talking about an acoustic, if it makes any difference

To do a vibrato, you move your finger up and down in a vertical position not too fast or, you can twist your wrist rapidly.
You can also vibrate the finger in a horizontal position depending on the effect you want.
all this is done with the middle finger.

Lastly, you can bend the string up slightly with the ring finger and vibrate with a slight up/down motion. No difference acoustic or electric. They are both guitars with 6 strings.

Good Luck..
