How do you decide which channels to use in a guitar / bass?

I've been playing bass for about 5 years and I always used GHS Boomers (Medium). Recently I decided to see if anything beyond that is less expensive, or can I get more life / probe. To reiterate my question, how to determine the best channels "lemons"?

I can not give good advice on different brands, because I am less experienced than you are low. But my boyfriend played bass guitar all his life and he told me something I do not know. It has changed since the series wound for wound down because the dishes and scratched the door prematurely. Prefers its playability and sound. In a 6-string guitar that I use Fender bullets in my best start and Ernie Balls in my other guitars. I'm not as hard on my strings. Do not hit the strings too frequency. This is usually what I do when I make 'em. The only thing for me is using the thickest gauge you can use. They sound better and last longer.
